What is the latest that I can pick up my son or daughter?
The Makoto after school martial arts program runs until 6:00pm every evening. But here’s the good news! We do not charge late fees. We understand… traffic just happens. So, if you’re going to be late, give us a call to let us know. We would appreciate however, if you could show us consideration and not make it a habit.
Do you pick up on Early Dismissal Days… Half Days… and In-service Days?
The Makoto after school martial arts program will pick up on Early Dismissal days and Half Days for no extra charge. There is a nominal fee to attend a Full-Day Karate Camp on most minor holidays and In-service Days.
Inservice Days: $37.00 for 8:00am — 6:00pm
SPECIAL NOTE: This service is only available to the Downingtown Area School District. If St Joe and/or Collegium’s half days or Inservice Days coincide with the Downingtown School District’s days off, then the service will be available to our St. Joe’s and Collegium families.
What happens if there is an early dismissal due to snow?
We always have our ear to the grapevine when it comes to possible snow days. So do not worry. We will know if school lets out early, and we WILL pick up all Makoto after school martial arts students. We do ask however, that if the weather is bad please pick up your child as early as possible so that no one gets stuck.
Is the Makoto after school martial arts program a year-round program? Do you offer summer camps?
Makoto does offer full-week Summer Karate Camps when school ends. They are cost effective and most definitely FUN! Each week kids learn weapons… go on at least 3 field trips… have pizza parties.. and more. Information about Summer Camps are available at the beginning of every new year.
What is the cost for membership in the Makoto after school martial arts program?
Cost for the Makoto program is just $117.00 per week, per child. That rate includes: transportation… ALL after-school activities (strength training and the martial arts)… uniform/tshirt/manual… and more. Plus, we do not charge for Early Dismissal days… late pick up fees… and one vacation week a school year. It is our goal to make this cost effective for the working family.
We do require weekly payments for the Makoto program. All charges will be taken out on the Monday of every week that your child attends the Makoto after school martial arts program. If you are planning on being on vacation for a week during any given month, you must let me know ahead of time so that I can make the necessary adjustment to your charges.
If, for any reason, you need to put your Makoto membership on hold for more than one week, you will be charged a weekly fee of 70% of your weekly tuition to hold your spot.
